The Basque Country is located in the north of Spain, at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains where they’ve been located for centuries. They have a unique culture, different from other parts of Spain or France. They are community based, so they spend a great deal of time with family, friends, and co-workers.
The Basque people are considered an Unreached People Group, which means less than 2% of them would self-identify as an evangelical, or non-Catholic, Christian. They are a secular culture with a clearly defined idea of what it means to be Basque. They are proud of their unique heritage and culture, while priding themselves on being strong and independent.
Our Strategy and Initiatives
Intentional Prayer
Intentional prayer seeking to build up the body of believers as well as discerning opportunities for sharing the Gospel with unbelievers. This happens through regular prayer walks throughout the city and by sharing key current events that can be used as strategic prayer points.
Leadership Development
Investing in church leadership to equip, encourage, and develop leaders to more effectively fulfill their mission of reaching the people in their communities while promoting unity amongst believers.
Community Investment
Community outreach with activities designed to build relationships. There is also a focus on mentoring, discipleship and Bible studies.
Cultural Exchange
Facilitating opportunities for education and building cross-cultural relationships. This is accomplished through trips to America to focus on improving English language skills and learning about a new culture, as well as organizing trips to Basque Country to show how culture impacts the sharing of the Gospel.
